New Board Policy The Board approved a collections policy to guide both the Society and potential donors in choosing artifacts to donate to GDHS. Because of our limited storage and display space and of the time it takes to catalogue artifacts well, the policy puts a premium on items that were part of local life and in good enough condition to be worth displaying. Please contact Collections Committee Chair, Bill Brennan (676-0170), if you have something you would like to donate.
Increasingly the work of assembling The Greene Hills of Home is being shouldered by many. Peggy Bancroft continues to write articles and proofread with an eagle eye; Ruth Altemier, Joyce Barna, Bernadine Lennon, and Ginny Rohrbacker are regularly writing articles and gathering photographs. Alden Jackson transcribes handwritten articles and diaries as well as proofreads and offers her good judgment on various items. Doris Bartleson comes up with one treasure after another from our cache of artifacts, Webb Gilpin takes Then & Now photos, and Susan Reichman helps to gather information for the We Remember section. And various far-flung subscribers send in memories, photos, questions that enrich the book. Thanks to all for such invaluable help.
GDHS Website Updated Thank you to John Laird for supplying the computerized version of the Gilpin Family Tree which has been added to our website. (Click on Family Page on our Genealogy Research page.) Great job, John! Since the youngest persons on the Tree are in their 80's, there is much updating to be done. If you can help us with additional information please contact Ruth Altemier at 570-676-4354 or rorualt@verizon.net. Further thanks, John, for offering your expertise to improve the Society's website, www.greenehs.org
